Balanced - Habits tracker & life goals motivation App Reviews

Very Helpful

This is an enjoyable, useful and very flexible app. I often find additional uses for it. I like the way I can set the frequency of things I need or want to do from several times a day to once a year without setting specific times. This means I can fit exercise and studies to a changing schedule without losing track of them. The usual absence of nagging reminders is nice, with a gentle increase in pressure as delayed items gradually come to the top of the list of things to do. The user interface is very well thought out, and the design is attractive. I thoroughly recommend this app.

Good to work out some usefull habits

Great!

Simple, clean and effective little app. I use it to track routine stuff that otherwise I would forget to do.

Nice app to keep you motivated

Very nice app to have a list of what you really like to do or want to do regularly to improve your life. You just mark, what youve already done and see what else is on the list. Without any pressure or crazy reminders. Like it!

Mostly good

I like that its easy to use and does what its suppose to do, but wish it would sync between devices. I have it on my iPhone and my iPad, but theres no way to sync it. Hopefully, if they upgrade it, it will sync next.

Beautiful and useful

Attractive interface and easy to use and set up. Particularly nice that you can set the frequency of goals/reminders so you can be nudged to do things without getting nagged every single day.

Different Approach to Repetitive Task Management

I have used Balanced for just a few days but so far I like it a lot. I think that the authors intended that this be used to provide some non-work related balance in your life. However I find that it also works well for work related matters. The thing that I see that is different from similar apps for monitoring work on user-defined repetitive tasks is that this app is structured in a way that gives you total flexibility to decide what you are going to do to advance the task every time you engage that task, without having to divide it into sub-tasks or redefining the task. So for example I have a task named "Work on Committee A Tasks." When that comes up to be worked on I can decide what it means and how much Im going to do for now. Once Ive done that much I can cross the task off the list (which doesnt delete it, it just moves it to the bottom if the list of repetitive tasks). Or I can decide to skip a task that has come up to the top of the list, which also moves it to the bottom of the list. For me the hardest part of engaging some tasks is getting started on them. This flexibility in the app allows me to at least get started with a task, and typically once Ive started I find that I end up doing more than I might have if I had set about from the beginning to accomplish all of what I did. The app has other neat features such as a built-in algorithm that decides what should be at the top of your list depending on how frequently you indicated you want to work on each task. It also has some type of performance rating metrics which I havent gotten to yet. All in all it is very well done.
